The Man vs Meeple promo Brawn vs. Boots isn’t a bad card. It has a cost of four skill points and grants you two skill points every time it’s played. The greatest benefit of the card is the “or” factor where the card is no longer situational. Two swords or two boots is a great resource to have in your hand. You either get the extra movement or if you like where you’re positioned, you have the option to hack at the goblin for some coins. Depending on what else is available, this is a card to target. It is useful in any aspect of the game. In the early game, you’re getting a bonus due to the exploration or chance for coins, which will probably put you ahead of your opponent(s). The mid-game is where it’s probably weakest as you’re probably already where you need to be or have the coins you need to get the items you want. But if you’re behind, this could be a great way to surge ahead movement wise or defeat a monster that could assist you. Late game is great because it’s two boots. You can either catch up or move ahead of your opponents to start that end of game count down. Granted, that is dependent on your drawing this card into your hand.
It’s compatible with each expansion but with each expansion added, the likelihood of this appearing dwindles but its effectiveness remains the same.
